The tsubame, or the small barn swallow, is a migratory bird and are seen in Southern Japan mostly between April and July. They tend to make their nests under awnings of manmade structures and have insect based diets. Something lovely about them is they tend to re-use their nests, meaning descendants often return to sites where their ancestors had originally built their nests.
